How to Connect Multiple Microphones to one input at the same time?
Most of the Screen Recording software allows only 1 microphone as your main audio input.
Multi Microphone Input For Pc
Most of the popular Screen Recording software has only 1 Audio input option which makes it difficult to connect multiple microphones at the same time for recording.
Even popular DAWS (Digital Audio Work Stations) like Audacity, Adobe Audition has only one option to choose your main microphone input and there is no option to connect multiple microphones or combine two microphone input into one.
In that case either you have to buy some audio mixing hardware like Audio Mixer which is quite costly or you need to use some kind of software which can take two inputs from 2 microphones and produce 1 output.
There are some paid options to do so but thankfully there is a completely free software which can do this job for you excellently.
And that software is called the Voicemeeter from VB-Audio which is an absolutely Free Software.
The first step is to go to this link to download the Voicemeeter from VB-Audio.
You can choose to download the Installer .exe file or the Zip file.
But I prefer installer .exe, so that you don’t have to unzip the file and then install it, which is an extra step.
Once, downloaded, then install the software which is a common process where you have to follow the instructions on your screen.
After successful installation, restart your PC and make sure both of your microphones are connected properly to the pc.
Then search of the Voicemeter desktop app on your pc and open it.

You will see the below interface.
First of all, click on the 1st Hardware input and then select your 1st Microphone from the dropdown lists.
If you are not sure about the name of your microphones then click on the Sound Icon on the lower right corner of the desktop. See the image below:
Then right-click there and select Sounds and that would open a dialogue box.
Then switch to the Recording Tab and here you will find all of your connected Microphones.
You can find the names here and then go back to the Voicemeter App and Select your Frist Hardware input and choose the desired microphone.
Thereafter click on the second Hardware input source and select your 2nd microphones from the dropdown lists.
At the time you might not notice anything at the peak meters because there is still one more step to take.
And then leave the third option of Virtual Input as it is and just go to the final Hardware Output select one of the speakers which are not currently in use.
This is very important because if you select your main output speaker then you will notice Eco in your Recordings which is absolutely not fine in any way.
So, how do you know which one is your Default Speaker Output?
To know that you again have to go the Speaker Icon and select sound and then switch to the Playback tab and here you will notice some outputs.
Here you will see your Default Speaker Output which has the green label on it.
Here you will also notice Voicemeeter App also, you don’t have to set this a default communication device of the output device otherwise it will not work.
Now go back to the Voicemeter app and then select the final Hardware Output to something else other than your default speakers output and the Voicemeter.
Once you will select that you will notice that Peak meters started showing sound waves while you speak.

Launch the Voicemeeter app and Click on Menu Button on the Top Right Corner.
That would open a drop-down list of some options.
Just click on the System Tray Run on Startup, which would enable check on this.

Now the Voicemeeter app would run on startup automatically and you don’t have to open it manually to combine two microphones into one every time to want to record.
