How to get the Button Mode for Photoshop Actions?

You might have noticed that some people have the Buttons instead of Lists for the Photoshop Actions, which is one click button.

What is Photoshop Action??
If you don’t know what is Photoshop Actions mean then let me tell you that Photoshop Action is a Series of steps or tasks you can perform on an image or batch of images like Adjustments, menu commands, Tools, Filters etc.
For example, you can create an Action script in Photoshop for resizing an image, apply particular filters, or applying some adjustments and then saving that image in a particular format on a particular location.
This script is called the Actions in Photoshop.
The Photoshop Action can perform all of these Actions or tasks very fast, within a few seconds and can save you a lot more time.
What is the Button Mode for Actions in Photoshop??
So let’s first discuss what is the Button Mode for Actions in Photoshop.
In Adobe Photoshop Actions, the Button Mode is one click Button to apply that Action or play that Action in Photoshop.
By default, the Photoshop Actions are in the List view or the list mode, where you need to first select the Action and then select the play button in order to execute that Action.
Which basically means you have to take two steps to apply any Action in Photoshop.
Which is time-consuming and sometimes not that productive?
So, that is why some people prefer the Button Mode in Photoshop Actions.

What is the benefit of Button Mode for Actions in Photoshop??
Button Mode is basically one-click execution of Action–script in Photoshop which allows you to just click once in order to apply any Action on any image.
Unlike the List–view where you have to first select the Action and then press the Play Button in order to execute that Photoshop Action.
So, the Button Mode works even faster and saves you a lot more time.
How to get the Button Mode for Actions in Photoshop??
In order to get the Button Mode for Actions in Photoshop, first of all, you have to go to the Actions Panel.
Which is normally on the top right corner of the Layers Panel in Photoshop.
But if it is not available somehow, then just go to the Windows in the Menu item and Select the Actions.
This would open the Actions Panel in Photoshop.
Here, you will find all the Actions installed in Photoshop.
But if you don’t have any Action or if you want to download the custom Actions then, you can fill the form below to download some free Actions.

Here you might be able to see all the Photoshop Actions in the List View.
So, in order to get the Button Mode for Actions in Photoshop, you have to click on the Hamburger Menu on the top right corner within the Photoshop Actions Panel.
The very first item on this menu, you will see the Button Mode.
Just click this and all of your Actions would now turn into buttons, which are one-click buttons.
Now, if you want to apply any of the Actions just click on it once and that Action would be executed or played automatically.
So, you don’t have to click the Play Button in order to Play any Action.
This little trick can save you a lot more time.
How to change the colours of the Photoshop Actions??
You might notice that some of the Photoshop Actions to have some colours and some are just black and white.
And if you are wondering how to change the colours of any Photoshop Actions or customise the colours of Photoshop Actions or the Photoshop button then you can do so just by following the below steps:
First, switch back to the List view by going to the Hamburger Menu and uncheck the Button Mode by clicking on that.
Now, select the Action of which you want to change the colour and then just double click on the blank space after the name of that Action.
That would open up a dialogue box window.
On the bottom, you will see the colour option just Click on the drop–down Menu and you will see many colours over there.
You can select any colour of your choice to give the Photoshop Action the desired colour.
Here you can even assign some shortcut keyboards commands as well to play that Action even faster.
After changing the colour just again switch back to the Button Mode by going to the Hamburger Menu once again and selecting Button Mode.
Now you will notice that the Actions for which you changed the colours do have that colour.
