1. Plan your shoot
The first trip is that before you do any kind of a should we eat a Holi portrait photography shoot or any other shoot, planning is the key.
As it is always said that the more time you will spend in planning, the less time it would take at the time of execution.
So how do you plan your Holi portrait photography shoot or any other photography shoot?
Do some research online on your favourite photography sites beat 500px, flicker, Instagram, Google or the best visual search site called pinterest.com.
Mostly I prefer to go to the Pinterest first and last to do my research for any kind of a project be it photoshoot awesome design work.
Pinterest is the best place because this is a visual search engine and on Pinterest, you will find lots of Creative images or visuals which can Certainly spice up your creativity and give you some really awesome ideas.
Create a board and rename it to your photo shoot ideas or anything else which you can identify easily.
You can make this board private or public if you don't mind sharing your bored with others.
Then search for the subject of the photoshoot which you are planning and you will find lots of Creative pins in the search results.
Now you can save any of your favourite Pins to your Board which you have just created.
This is how you can collect the ideas which would help you out at the time of shoot as you will be having a rough Framework that what kind of shots you want.
2. Holi Portrait Photography Tip- use colours creatively
If you want to take some creative Holi portraits then you need to use the colours purposefully.
Which means that don't apply the colours on your subjects face randomly but use the paintbrush or the drawing brush to create some geometrical shapes like straight lines, cross or any other kind of a sign which you like.
This technique would really give you amazing colourful Holi portraits.
3. Holi Portraits Photography Tips- take new individual portraits and group portraits.
During the Holi celebration, we sometimes forget to take the individual portraits and most of us take the group shots.
But don’t forget to take some individual portrait shots along with group shots and I am sure your subject or model would love it.

If you want to take some action shots this Holi season. Then ask your model to close their eyes and put hands in a protective position and ask someone else to throw the colours on his or her face.
But before you ask others to throw the colours on your subject’s face, you need to focus on the subject's face and keep the half shut up rest and then ask others to throw the colours on the count of 3 – 5.
That way you would be able to capture the colours particles and this kind of a short looks very captivating.

Another good portrait pose can be where you ask your model or subject to hold the paintbrush in his or her hands and pretend like painting on the face.
